Telescope specifications and what their meanings:

Design Refractor In refractor scopes, light goes through the lens instead of bouncing off a curved mirror (as in reflector scope)
Lenses Tempered glass, Achromatic coated Tempered glass is hardened and much stronger than normal glass. Achromatic lenses are coated to correct colour distortion that occurs when different wavelengths of light pass through the lens.
Focal Length 700 mm Distance between the lens and the focal point (focal point is where the light rays converge and the image comes into focus)
Objective Lens 60 mm Diameter of the objective lens (also known as the aperture)
Focal Ratio 700/60 = 11.7 (f11.7) Ratio of the focal length to the diameter of the aperture
Power 35x, 70x, and 140x Total magnification power with the eyepieces
Mount Altazimuth mount Standard up-down-left-right mount (vs equatorial mount which follows the curve of Earth).
Tripod Aluminium tripod With adjustable legs and accessory storage tray
Accessories 1.5x erecting lens Flips the image for terrestrial spotting scope use
2x Barlow lens Doubles the magnification power
10mm and 20mm eyepieces The eyepieces transmit the light to your eye.
Diagonal mirror Allows for easier viewing angles
Dew shield Protects the lens
Finder Scope, 5x 24 mm Helps you find objects more easily, Magnifies 5 times and the aperture is 24mm
